In which we go to Sturgis, the City of Riders

Sturgis, South Dakota is the home of a huge annual motor cycle rally.  This year is the 76th one.

This really is a City of Riders.  Motorcycle stuff was everywhere we looked.

We stopped for some coffee at this excellent coffee shop.

It's pretty much the wild west, y'all.

We also took a tour of the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame.

This location is set up as a gym on Pokemon GO, which the boys and I quickly conquered, because who in this city of bikers plays Pokemon?  No one.  In fact, when we mentioned to the guy running the front desk of the museum that this was a Pokemon gym, his response was, "How do I get rid of that?!"

This special bike was from the 50th Sturgis Rally, and it was made of gold.

This bike reminded me of my grandpa, whom we called Pap Pap.  That's probably my fault since I was the oldest grandchild.  Anyways, he had a Honda Silver Wing that he loved.  Yes, this is a Gold Wing.  No, the difference doesn't mean anything to me.  I know practically nothing about motorcycles.  And that's okay with me.  The bike made me think of Pap Pap, and that made me happy.

I see why this location is so popular for bike riders.  The roads and scenery in this part of the country are outstanding fun to drive.  Even in our huge SUV.
