In which we visit Rapid City
It was our first visit to South Dakota, and now we can cross that state off the list.
We got another rental car with a sun roof, and of course, Lex asked if he could stick his head out of it.
We stayed at the wonderful, historic Alex Johnson Hotel.
It is supposed to be one of the most haunted hotels in America, and the staff was telling us ghost stories while they were helping us get checked in. They offered to take us on a ghost hunt after dark, and while the kids seemed excited about it at the time, they were a little bit less excited about actually doing it after dark, and we never did.
But we did have dinner in their rooftop restaurant, called Vertex.
The food was amazing, and the views were too.
While we were eating dinner, we saw a few rainbows over the mountains in the distance.
It was all very pretty.
