This year for Boxing Day, we gave gifts that were things that would be needed in the coming year. Mostly clothes and blankets and sheets and towels. The kids enjoyed a second day of opening presents, and also, they were glad that they didn't get any underwear on Christmas morning.
Post Boxing Day Laundry Day took several days.
For Boxing Day Brunch, I had visited the Australian Bakery Cafe and purchased a bunch of different meat pies and Lamingtons. So basically, I just had to heat them up, and then we were feasting upon the traditional Boxing Day fare of the UK.
By the way, all the meat pies were fantastic.
After brunch, the kids played with all their new toys.
This is a Wubble Bubble.
There was also an Ugly Sweater Cookie Decorating Contest. The grownups got pretty serious about their cookie designs.
I didn't take part in the cookie decorating, because I was busy making a Yule Log cake.
Turns out that Aunt Ann bought us a jelly roll pan when we got married, and I have been using it as a cookie sheet for the past 12 years. This was the first time that I actually used it for its real purpose.
The cake had chocolate frosting and a coffee cream filling, and it was delicious!
Happy Boxing Day!!
