Something unexpected

I was surprised to learn the other night that I can see the downtown sky line from our neighborhood, even though we live in the boonies. I think it is a combination of the fact that none of the trees have leaves yet, and that there isn't anything else around to block our view, except for corn fields.

So, on a clear night, I can see downtown off in the distance. But, it's so far away that the city lights don't block out the stars, so we can see a ton of those, too. It's really kinda neat.
