Last night, after reading the instruction manual that came with our travel system (stroller, car seat, car seat bases) about 4 times, I finally managed to figure out how everything works! That's right people, I can now apply the brakes, fold the stroller, adjust the seat in the stroller, and put the car seat into the stroller or car seat bases! The only thing that I'm still not entirely clear on is how to install the car seat bases into either of our cars, so I'm going to make an appointment with a local fire department to have them do it for us the right way. That's what everyone recommends anyways, even when the instructions aren't completely useless!
Then, I started sorting all the baby clothes and blankets and whatnot so that they can be washed. I've got about 3 loads of whites, 2 blues, 1 green, 2 yellow and a small load of reds. Since baby clothes and bibs and blankets are so tiny, I really can't understand how there is so much to wash! But, after it all gets washed, I'll be able to put sheets on the crib and pack the baby's bag for the hospital. (I was supposed to have our bags packed for the last 9 weeks or so, and I still don't have a thing packed. I need to pack my bags, too. I've promised myself that it will get done over this weekend, at the latest.)
My other task for this week is to pre-register for the hospital, so that we don't have to do a ton of paper work when we get there. It's only a one page form to fill out and mail in...and I should have done it about 9-10 weeks ago, and I still haven't done it. I've got a self-imposed deadline of this Friday, though.
Speaking of this Friday, that will be my last day of work until after the summer. I met the temporary summer girl yesterday and started training her a bit. She's coming in again tomorrow afternoon to do some more training. I hope that I'm doing a good job explaining everything, and that she'll be able to do my job somewhat proficiently during the summer while I'm gone. I don't want to come back to a huge mess!!
