I've Been in the Garden Today

Today I spent some time outside in the garden. As you can see from above, my tiger lilies are already blooming. These are some of my favorite flowers, so they make me pretty happy.

We also already have some raspberries that are ripe, and hopefully there will be more as the summer progresses. This is the bush that Kevin's parents gave us from their yard...the bush that we bought from the nursery hasn't had any blooms on it yet, much less fruit.

This is an iris that my friend Carrie gave me. She gave me a whole bucket full of irises earlier this spring, when she was replacing the ones that she had in her garden with irises that she had received from her grandmother.

My clematis is *still* blooming. This year it is really producing a ton of pretty flowers!

We are going to have a bunch of sunflowers underneath where Kevin put our birdfeeder earlier this spring, as the little birdies apparently knocked a bunch of seeds onto the ground, and they have really taken off.

Here you can see our very large patch of eggplant! We are probably going to have a ton of eggplant to eat later on this summer.

I did actually do some work out in the yard today. Above is the front garden area before I trimmed the bushes, and below is the "after" photo.

I didn't do a ton of work, but I think it is an improvement.
