It has been 7 months since Lex made his debut.
In that time, we've done a lot of fun things. There was Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas; we frequently visit the pool, the library, the park, the gym; there have been multiple trips to COSI, the zoo, Franklin Park Conservatory, the chocolate factory and museums aplenty. Then there were parties and parades for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day, and Easter was a big deal. We've also made it to Cleveland, Cincinnati, Akron, and accidentally taken him to West Virginia. So far, Lex has had an interesting and busy life!
Lex is still a very happy baby. And he has rarely been sick. Everything has been so much different this time around. I would venture to say that I have enjoyed Lex's first seven months so much more than I enjoyed Connor's first seven months. (Not that I didn't think those months were fantastic. No. They really were. That's why we decided to do it all again. It's just that this time, I've been sick less, the baby has been sick less, I'm not working, I get to be with the boys all the time, and I've got some idea of what I'm doing now. I'm not so worried about keeping everyone alive.)
Lex is sitting up really well now. He rarely falls over any more, and if he does, it happens very slowly because he works so hard to stay up. He can keep his head inches off the ground for like 5 minutes before his little ab muscles give out. He's also rolling a bit, and he scoots a little bit. Mainly, he becomes a little bit mobile when there is a toy just out of his reach. He's strong willed when it comes to reaching toys, and where there is a will, there is a way.
He is eating more now. I feed him something at lunch and dinner every day now. Mostly because that is the only way to get any peace so that the rest of us can eat. If he is strong willed when it comes to reaching for toys, it is something much more dramatic when it comes to reaching for someone else's food. He doesn't care much for baby rice cereal, but he does love biter biscuits and rice rusks. Carrots, avocado, banana and pears are his other faves.
According to my at-home measurements this morning, Lex is still growing. Still!
Weight: 20 lbs 10 oz
Length: somewhere between 28.5 and 29 inches. (He wouldn't stop squirming.)
This puts him squarely in the 12 month clothing size. Which is what he has been wearing now for a bit.

Happy 7 months Lex--you are such a handsome little guy!!
(and we accidentally wound up in WV once too, on my way back from a Spring Break in VA once--but had we not done that, we wouldn't have wound up at a rest -stop in the middle of Corn Field, OH somewhere--and I had a Music Frat jacket on--and all of a sudden I hear "HEY BLONDIE"--and I turn around to find my clarinet professor--and yes, I went to college in WI:)
