The Candy Shack and The Log Cabin
Connor and I built a Halloween Candy Shack out of foam using a kit that we bought at the craft store. This one was a bit trickier than the pumpkin turkey because of the roof. But I thought it was good practice for our future gingerbread house endeavors.

Then, in keeping with the house theme, we took a field trip to a local log house. We packed a picnic snack and hit the road.

Even though this log house is tiny compared with modern homes, it's big compared to my boys.

Right next to this porch was a set of picnic tables, so we sat down and ate our afternoon snack. It was a great change of pace instead of eating at our kitchen table.
