Picture Book of the Week
Lex and Connor are in love with this book. I swear I read Papa, please get the moon for me to them at least once a day, and that's nothing compared to the number of times that Lex reads this one to himself. I'm pretty sure that he has the whole thing memorized. Their favorite? When daddy reads it to them.
The story is sweet, and the illustrations are classic Eric Carle. The pages fold out so that many of the pictures are much larger than the actual book, which is pretty neat.
And, the story leads well into discussions about the phases of the moon. You might want to take advantage of this scientifically, but what Connor really wanted to know was, "Mommy, what happens if you are on the moon when it gets smaller and disappears? Do you disappear, too?"
And so is the way that the world works when you are 4 years old.
