Today was a snow day. Even for Kevin.
The City of Amarillo shut down for about 12 inches of snow.
But you know the funny thing about 12 inches of snow with a lot of high wind? It doesn't cover the ground in an even 12 inches.
Sometimes it covers the side of your house, and you can't even see out the window:
Sometimes it blows into waist high drifts and leaves another area completely clear:
All of "our" snow blew away. Our side of the apartment building didn't have snow, and the other side had waist deep snow.
Also, you can see the new high-tech weather station that we mounted to the fence. The kids call it the weather machine. And since we mounted it the night before the snow came, it seems to me that they think it created the snow. Like a weather machine from a movie. I'm sure I saw a movie just like that once. I think it was on the Disney Channel.
