I am now pleased to present more information than you ever really wanted about our homeschool curriculum, but here goes nothing.
We bought a few books when we went to the homeschool expo this summer, but most of our books were ordered online. Usually when boxes arrive at the house, the kids ask to open them immediately. But not these boxes. This time the kids knew what was inside, and they weren't ready to open them until summer was over.
So the boxes piled up, until summer was drawing to an end and it was time for an epic unboxing of all the books.
First up, Connor's traditional daily workbooks:
He has completed all the Daily Geography books, so we are moving on to a set of workbooks that cover the continents one at a time. He chose to begin with Africa. This book will only take him about 6 to 8 weeks to complete, and then we will order the next one.
Here are Lex's daily workbooks.
After we moved to Atlanta last year, we never got the kids back into traditional piano lessons. We did, however, complete book 2 of this series, and we have decided to keep up with piano this way again this year. So, here is the book 3 set.
The next two sets of books and flashcards are for our art history studies. They are for both of the boys.
Connor is continuing with the German workbook set that he asked for towards the end of the last school year. In addition, both boys are going to be starting their third year of Latin studies.
I saw these vocabulary cards called Marie's Words at a homeschool convention when Connor was starting Kindergarten, and they have been on my mental shopping list ever since. So, when I ran into the Marie's Words vendor booth again this summer, I bought a set.
I bought all of these books at the homeschool expo, too. Connor and Lex have already completed the first three books in the Writing & Rhetoric series, and we are going to start the logic series slowly now, too.
While we were at the homeschool expo, Connor picked out the three biography books. Lex picked out the You Wouldn't Want to Be books. I bought the Adventures of Mumford series books for their US History studies. Oh, and Connor asked to read Around the World in 80 Days.
This year, Connor is starting Life of Fred: Pre-Algebra I with Biology. Lex will be starting Life of Fred: Jelly Beans.
Since Connor is in 6th Grade now, we are adding a special middle school humanities program for him. I picked History Odyssey Middle Ages, because it picks up where we left off last year with our studies of Ancient Greece and Rome. I also like it because it is a history, literature and geography program all in one.
So, where do we put all of this stuff? In the homeschool cupboard, of course.
Well, at least the stuff we are currently using. The books that we aren't currently using are all on the bookcase.
TL;DR Version
